HUNTER PLASTICS HELPS TEENAGER ON BBC DIY SOS: THE BIG BUILD
Hunter Plastics provided materials for a house renovation on the BBC show DIY SOS: The Big Build, which helps those in need of structural home renovations.
The programme, to be aired on BBC One this year, useda whole host of Hunter materials from underground pipes to long radius sweep bands. In total, Hunter Plastics donated eight sets of materials for the build’s drainage system supplied by BPS (Building & Plumbing Supplies) of Tewkesbury, which was completed for Antonia Payne-Cheney and her family.
Antonia Payne-Cheney lives in Eckington, Worcestershire. The 17-year-old was diagnosed with a rare condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which is caused by a lack of collagen. As a result of this she had been in hospital for over 12 months, unable to return home until necessary adaptations had been made to the property.
Colin Mutch from Hunter Plastics, which is part of the Aliaxis Group said: “We were delighted to be given the chance to work with the BBC and DIY SOS on this worthwhile project. Being able to help Antonia and her family gives us immense pleasure and we’re proud to have the Hunter Plastics brand involved.
“The family were pleased with the results of the renovation, and obviously very excited to be able to welcome Antonia home again!”
