Stormflo
The refurbishment of the rainwater drainage system on a massive storage building at a well-known Scottish distillery called for a heavy-duty, high capacity system that could cope with the enormous flow rates from the roof.
The Stormflo gutter system was fitted at Inverhouse Distiller's Moffat Distillery where a variety of Scotland's most popular brands of whisky are stored. Two large buildings - one of 172 linear metres long and the other 125 linear metres long - had their original fibre-cement guttering replaced by contractors Rentokil Four Seasons Roofing.
The buildings' original fibre-cement guttering had deteriorated beyond repair and so Kenny Forbes, Rentokil Four Season's Contracts Manager, looked around for a system to replace it. "These are very large roofs - thirty metres from eaves to ridge - so the guttering had to have a big enough capacity to cope with the flow rates that would come off them," he comments. "The guttering went up with no problems at all. In fact, the lads were delighted with it,We have had some pretty heavy downpours since it was installed - I have inspected the Stormflo myself and it has stood up to the test very well,"
